A Special Thanks to our Upward Coaches and Referees
Every Saturday we have volunteers at the Family Life Center refereeing our Upward Basketball games for kids grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. We also have volunteers who run the score boards and time for the games and other volunteers who run the Concession Stand.
This year we have over 60 coaches working with teams in Upward Basketball and Cheerleading. Each coach is committed to working with their team for an hour each week, and then coaching the team during their games each Saturday. Many of the coaches do double duty and either coach two teams or also help referee when their teams are not playing.
Throughout the week and on Saturday we also have individuals who give up their time to volunteer at the front desk. These individuals help direct parents and kids to the correct gym, answer questions regarding Upward, answer the phones, pass out flyers, and complete any other tasks asked of them during Upward Basketball games and practices.

Each week we have several volunteers at the Family Life Center. These volunteers are what keeps the FLC running. Volunteers complete activities ranging from answering the phones and sending out mailings to cleaning the Family Life Center and working with our after-school ministry. In addition, we have several people who are unable to volunteer their time, but who gladly donate food, drinks, or supplies. We could not do it without each and every person who realizes the ministries available through the Family Life Center and says YES to getting involved in whatever way they can. To these people, we cannot show enough gratitude. From the lives of those you touch, we would like to say THANK YOU!
WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
Ministry opportunities are happening every day at the Family Life Center. As more people become involved in our programs, more volunteers are needed to keep the FLC running smoothly. Would you consider serving as we reach out to people?
Here are some opportunities where you can get involved right now:
FLC Facilitator
What? Someone who is responsible for meeting, greeting and assisting those who come through our doors to participate in various ministries.
When? Once a month from 6-8:30pm (choose from a Mon, Tues, Thurs, or Fri evening)
Upward Basketball Referee
What? Someone with a little experience in refereeing (more training will be provided) who is willing to help referee the Upward basketball games.
When? Saturdays beginning Dec. 6th (it is not necessary to be available for all games to help out).
